Abstrakt (anglicky)
A gastropod fauna from the Monograptus uniformis graptolite Biozone (Early Lochkovian, Early Devonian) of the Prague Basin is described here. The study of these early Lochkovian gastropods reveals the presence of Silurian gastropod elements as well as gastropods that are known from younger Devonian strata. The gastropod genera Ptychosphaera and Conoclisa are hitherto known only from Silurian strata of the Prague Basin. The majority of the early Lochkovian gastropods belong to genera that are known from younger Early and Middle Devonian formations of the Prague Basin. Among the typical genera and subgenera known only from the Devonian are Plectonotus (Boucotonotus) n. subgen., Kolihadiscus, Cyclocyrtonella, Ruedemannia (Hanusispira), Ruedemannia (Batteniella) n. subgen., Zlichovia n.gen., Oriomphalus, Cancellator, Trochoclisa, and Palaeozygopleura.
The genera and subgenera Murchisonia (Murchisonia), Kodymites, Australonema, Platyceras (Platyceras), Platyceras (Orthonychia), and Spirina, which also occur in the Monograptus uniformis graptolite Biozone, are known from both Silurian and Devonian strata. The new genera Lukesispira, Vltaviella, and Chuchlina are hitherto known only from the Monograptus uniformis graptolite Biozone (early Lochkovian). Discovery of hitherto inknown early Lochkovian gastropods sheds light on the origin of the Plectonotus (Boucotonotus) * Palaeozygopleura Community which is here establisched for the gastropod community coming from the deeper-water, mainly micritic Early Devonian limestones of the Prague Basin. The Plectonotus (Boucotonotus) - Palaeozygopleura Community ranges the entire Lower Devonian (early Lochkovian - late Emsian) and consists of a highly diversified (several tens of species), small-sized fauna containing both epifaunal and infaunal elements
