Abstrakt (anglicky)
The climatic and floral changes within the Oligocene of Central Europe and adjacent regions are demonstrated on the basis of critically evaluated rich megafloras from near-shore (lowland) sites and volcanic regions ("volcanic floras"). Both types of settings have been compared by means of a suite of revised or emended floral assemblages ("Florenkomplexe"). In the Boreal province of Central Europe six floral assemblages have been recognized depending on climatic and floral changes due to periodic immigrations of "modern" Arcto-Tertiary elements. In the Paratethys Province the floral changes reflected in three assemblages proceeded during the Oligocene more smoothly due to the equable influence of the Tethys sea. Only in the youngest floral assemblage Linz-Krumvíř has a stronger immigration of Arcto-Tertiary elements been established.
The common floral links between the two settings of the lowland and volcanic floras are known in both the regions as important accessory elementsThe climatic and floral changes within the Oligocene of Central Europe and adjacent regions are demonstrated on the basis of critically evaluated rich megafloras from near-shore (lowland) sites and volcanic regions ("volcanic floras").
