Abstrakt (anglicky)
According to a detailed analysis of geological formation of the territory, to the geomorphological conditions to the analysis of the lengthwise profile and to other methods, we present some more hypotheses of the formation of the upermost course of the Sázava River and of the river net in the studied region. The analysis of the orientation of the axes of the valley net proves that this orientation respects the tectonic formation of the territory. Similarly as the tectonics, the axes of the valley net as well have three basic orientations : NW-SE, W-E and NE-SW. Downstream the Velké Dářko Lake, the Sázava River Valley is NW-SE oriented. In Žďár nad Sázavou this orientation changes to the W-E one and downstream the Sázava Village to the NE-JW one. The Stržský potok Brook is at its upper course NW-SE oriented, the orientation changes at the lower course to the NE-SW and than again to the NW-SE. The north (right)affluents of the Sázava River are shorter and mainly NW-SE oriented.
The valleys of the left affluents are mostly W-E oriented, at their lower courses they turn to the SE-NW direction. The W-E orientation is also maintained by the upmost course of the Oslava River (and more southwards parallelly also by its later affluent Sklenský potok Brook)that later turns to the SE. The findings of Tertiary sediments, in the case of Kirchner (1994)and Sýkora (1958)of lacustrine sediments westwards and southwards from the town of Žďár nad Sázavou at the altitudes of 590 m, and of our findings westwards from Žďár nad Sázavou (nearly at the identical altitudes of 590 to 620 m)indicate a possible enlargement of the lake which used to spread in the Veselská sníženina Depression up to the level given by these findings, that is more to the north. This Palaeogenic lake was not, according to our opinion, drained to the SE, but to the NW to the Dářská brázda Furrow and then to the Polabí region (probably to the Doubrava River).
During a neoid tectogenesis, vertical movements of individual blocs occured along the old Palaeozoic structures. The Žďárské vrchy Hills were uplifted along the Železnohorský zlom Fault and the massif of Peperk, Světka and Henzlička along the Peperk dislocation of the same orientation. At the same time, the more to the west situated bloc got relatively depressed. A relative depression of the south bloc occured along the Křídelská dislocation (W-E orientation). These movements entirely transformed the river net in the region. The lake in the Veselká sníženina Depression was progressively disappearing and got drained to the SE to the present Oslava River. The same orientation was adopted by the upmost course of the Sázava River. In Žďár nad Sázavou however, the river turns its course from the SE to the W along an impaired zone due to the Křídelská dislocation. This change is in the same time conditioned by the lithology.
