   The coal mining in the Ostrava-Karviná Coal Basin (Czech Republic) is accompanied with generating induced seismic events in the course of which is released appreciable quantity of seismic energy. Based on our long-term observations at trio of three component sensors placed underground, it was found out that roughly 40,000 - 50,000 seismic events were yearly detected and localized. These events have been occurring within broad energetic scale for individual events, the highest energetic class was recognized up to 108 J during the last twenty years. According to our classification of seismic events we differentiate, in principle, three types of events. As the most frequent there are "usual" events, the second less frequent group which includes so-called "mining shocks" usually felt by miners underground and significantly by the inhabitants on the surface of undermined area. The last group and too hazardous one mainly for miners underground, is denoted as "rockburst" [2,3].
