   The extreme rainfalls in July 1997 triggered slope movements recorded particularly in the flysch-type sediments of the West Carpathians and sediments of the Bohemian Cretaceous Basin with Tertiary Neoidic volcanic intrusions and pyroclastic rocks.The special research project is running now to summarize and evaluate as much information as possible about the physiographic settings and initiation mechanism of landslide phenomena - Slope deformation in the Czech Republic.The project is divided in to 3 parts: 1. Documentation of individual landslides, 2. Systematic survey and clasiffication of landslides for new determination of the areas with special conditions of geological structure.3. The integrated evaluation of the model areas, infotmation database and conclusions.
