Abstract (in english)
Leaf anatomical structure obtained from the holotype of Ceratozamia hofmannii Ettingshausen corroborates its affinity to Ceratozamia (Zamiaceae, Cycadales). This species was once recorded and described from Münzberg near Leoben (upper Lower Miocene of Styria, Austria) and represents the youngest fossil recorf of Ceratozamia in the world. It differs in subtle morphological and leaf anatomical details from Ceratozamia floersheimensis (Engelhardt) Z. Kvaček from the Lower Oligocene of Hesse and Hungary. Its nearest lining relative from grow in the subtropical cloud zone of central Mexico
