Abstract (in english)
The eastern part of the Czech Republic was hit by extremal rainfall in july 1997. Extreme precipitation caused catastrophic slope deformations in areas susceptible to landsliding. Landslides were particularly prevalent in the region of Carpathian flysch in the eastern Czech Republic.
