Abstract (in english)
Cedar and Parowan Canyons are incised into the western margin of the Markagunt Plateau at the transition between the Basin and Range and the Colorado Plateau. This area was also transitional in the Cretaceous when sediments were being shed from the Sevier orogenic belt a short distance to the west and epicontinental seaways were flooding in from the east.
