Abstract (in english)
At the southeast face of the brickyard at Dolní Věstonice, the last interglacial and early glacial periods of the Pleistocene loess section has been divided into climatic subcycles. In subcycle B1, a fossil argillic horizon developed on the underlying loess of the penultimate glacial cycle (cycle C). The surface of the argillic horizon was covered by the loess material, which was reworked by zooedafon of further steppe soil. Sedimentation of the marker horizon during an abrupt climatic change was followed by a thick accumulation of humic pellet sands, interrupting steppe soil pedogenesis in the early glacial period. Subcycle B2 begins with a phase of chernozem development on the underlying pellet sands. After ovelappnig this soil by the deposition of a second marker during the next abrupt change, subsequent sedimentation of pellet sands as well as hillwash loess took place. A new steppe soil developed during the next break in sedimentation.
The close of the subcycle B2 was marked by a period of weak solifluction and cryoturbation and then sedimentation of the thick last glacial loess complex. Subcycle B33 of the late glacial period will be studied in the future
