Abstract (in english)
   The study of Miocene volcanoclastics from the Carpathian Foredeep show that they can be used for tephrostratigraphy. Recognised distal airfall tephra layer have an acidic character (rhyolite, dacite). The principal differences were recognised between Upper Eggenburgian and Lower Badenian volcaniclastics. Two tephra horizons were discovered in the Lower Miocene. These horizons can be effectively used for solving stratigraphic problems of the region. The average radiometric age for the Upper Eggenburgian tephra is 20.3 +- 2.1 Ma. The source volcanism is located in the Carpatho-Pannonian region (calc-alkaline volcanic suite of volcanic arc volcanism)
