Abstract (in english)
An attempt has been made to present a model distribution of trace elements in world lignites based on statistical treatment of available chemical data. Lignites in many countries, including Czech Republic, have been and still will be in near future the most important source of energy. It is to be noted that the basic research of trace element distribution in lignites has been behind the development and introduction of new technologies of coal utilization. Statistical treatment of chemical data showed that approximately 68of obtained data were within GM/GD to GMxGD intervals where GM = geometrical mean and GD = geometrical deviation. Histograms of almost all trace elements showed their distribution close to a lognormal type. The calculated data represent a certain approximation to average contents and distribution of trace elements, including the central range of their values, in the so-called "world lignite seam".
This information may be useful for the development of new technologies, delineation of viable sectios of lignite seams, correlation of individual basins and for assessment of quality of exported and imported lignite as concerns the content of trace elements and their comparison with the "world lignite seam"
