Abstract (in english)
   The caves of the Western Urals, Russia, host spherulitic carbonate formations located usually at the surface of cave sediments. The origin of these spherulites has not been known until now. Based on mineralogical and geochemical study (morphology, mineralogy, C and O stable isotopes, U-series dating) they can be attributed to cryogenic cave carbonates which crystallized during karst-water freezing in the caves. They formed in the caves repeatedly during a time span from 125 to 13 thousand years before present.
