Abstract (in english)
   This paper includes results of petrographical, chemical, fluorescent and pyrolithic examinations of sapropelites of coal beds (Nmaurian A, B, C) of the Upper Silesian Coal Basin, using the Rock-Eval method. These beds have been recently found during mining. The results obtained allowed to prove the genetic-petrographic differences, to estimate the rank, degree of alteration of the organic substance. Results of examination have shown than cannel and humic coals were formed of similar organic substances but in different depositional conditions, which caused mainly changes in petrographic composition and in smaller extent also of chemical and technological properties. Boghead has different properties caused by different environmental conditions and dissimilar organic matter
