Abstract (in english)
The study presents results of pollen analysis of 4 informative samples of a carbonate lowland moor from Velichovky borehole (Ms-10c; 6.2 to 7 m, Cretaceous age). The borehole is located west of Velichovky near a bridge over the Velichovky-Hustiřany road. Laboratory processing followed standard methods used for Quaternary sporomorph separation (Erdtman, 1943, 1954; Faegri et al., 1964; Overbeck, 1958). Stratigraphy of the sediments follows the classification of Firbas (1949, 1952). Section V (Velichovky MS-10c) was dated to early Subatlantic (IX). Pollen diagram and table indicate that the area was forested with the dominant tree species recorded in pollen spectrum being pine (Pinus) and spruce (Picea). Mixed oak forests (Quercetum mixtum) were dominated by linden (Tilia) and contained hasel (Corylus), elm (Ulmus), oak (Quercus), maple (Acer) and ash (Fraxinus). Marshland biotopes were indicated by alder (Alnus). Pollen grains of herbs were less frequent and mostly indicated marshes.
Taxa indicating grasslands and field cultures (cereals) were subordinate. A more humid microclimates probably pertaining to spruce and alder forests were indicated by spores of family Polypodiaceae
