Abstract (in english)
A quantitative check of movements on a tectonic scarp in Cordillera Blanca, the Andes of Peru, has been organised using an instrumentation technique that includes registration of relative angular deviations. The instrument installed permanently into the failure zone cutting a moraine is able to register microdisplacements in all the three dimensions. About three years of initial measurements represent an introductory period of observation in which data of movements were established with several relatively low value slips. A major irreversible slip not exceeding 0,6 mm was induced by a distant earthquake. The effect is conformable to phenomena recorded elsewhere in seismically active areas. Registered values and trends are of low order, yet compatible and well comparable with expected regional uplifts. The observation site can be evaluated as of a good stability to avoid unwanted parasite effects
