Abstract (in english)
Actual knowledge of stress in rock mass in one of masic prerequisites of successful solving of a number of research tasks within the area of science dealing with stress conditions and stress phenomena in Earth crust. One of the few methods enabling direct stress measuring in the area accessible only by boreholes is hydrofracturing method. The following paper describes the application of such a method in the Institute of Geonics, it gives a short characteristics of the apparatus applied evaluating existing results of horizontal stress measurement in locations of Ostrava-Karviná coalfield
