Abstract (in english)
   Presented study documents the results of the research concerning the pedochemistry state and development on the Strmá stráň locality in the Krkonoše Mts. in the period 1980-1993. Permanent research plots (PRP), representing an altitudinal transect (1050-1220 m a.s.l.) were established for the research of the natural mountain spruce ecosystmes including their soil compartment. Basic characteristics of these sites are documented by the Table 1. Standard basic pedological methods were used for the sampling and chemical analyses. Sampling was performed (autumn 1980 and 1993) on the same locations from the same pits. Analyses were done by one laboratory (FGMRI Research Station Opočno laboratory) exploiting the same methods: pH (in water as well as 1 N KC1), bases content (S) and base saturation (V) by Kappen, and accessible nutrients and sesquioxides in 1% citric acid solution. Results are summarized in Table 2 (sampling 1980) and Table 3 (samplig 1993).
   They confirmed extremely unfavourable soil conditions on studied localities, as well as the tendencies of acidification in the period 1980-1993 and some revitalisation in the last years. Extremity of soils was positively correlated with the altitude. Degradation and acidification was observed as a bases content and the base saturation decrease. Soil restoration can be assumed as a consequence of the vegetation changes and some acid deposition lowering since the early 90ies. It is documented as the soil reaction values increase and intensification of the accessible nutrients dynamics. Results so document not only the degradation processes, but also the considerable regeneration potential of forest soils
