Abstract (in english)
   Laboratory study of thermal alteration of bituminous coal in inert atmopshere was performed. As experimental variables the temperature, time and grain size of coal was take into account. From the experiments regression functions of volatile matter (Vdaf) versus maximal temperature of heating (a) and mean reflectance of vitrinite (R0) versus maximal temperature of heating (b) were evaluated, for different time of heating (from 1 hour to 30 days). The set of the regression equations was derived from the laboratory data and from the data published before (Barker and Pawlewicz, 1986), for which the time of the thermal alteration was 10 5 years. The equations express the relation between maximal temperature of coal heating (t max) and the time of thermal heating 'tau'. They are derived for various values of volatile matter (V daf) or for various values mean reflectance of vitrinite (R0) of thermally altered coal.
   These equations enable to estimate the time during which the coal was once more thermally altered by some of the postsedimentary processes
