Abstract (in english)
   Sediments of the Bohemian Cretaceous Basin experienced a complicated thermal history in the late Cretaceous and Cenozoic, related to multiphase volcanic activity associated with the Ohře Rift in the NW and the Labe Volcano-Tectonic Zone in its axial part. In places, matrix of quartzose sandstone was replaced by secondary cement of Fe-oxyhydroxides. Ferritization and its relation to basaltic bodies was studied by means of field mapping. tectonic study and surface geomagnetic survey at the calssical localities of Borek, Pavlovice, Vlhošť and Husa near Česká Lípa, Kamenný vrch near Dubá, and Střezivojický Špičák, Houska and Pokličky near Mšeno. Three morphological types of ferritization wee distinguished: 1. subvertical tabular bodies several centimetres thick, filling open joints and faults and associated with dyke contacts, 2. thin, undulating crusts, often tube- and sheath-like in spahe, mostly forming subvertical zones several meters or tens pf meters wide, and 3.
   stratabound subhorizontal bodies up to 6 m thick. The following factors were found to be most important for the distribution of ferritization in sandstones of the Bohemian Cretaceous Basin: i. proximity of basaltic bodies, ii. the degree of fracturing of the host sediment and favourable orientation of feeder-structures, and iii. sufficient permeability of the host sediment
