Abstract (in english)
The deposit belongs to the middle part of the Czech branch of the Moldanubian crystalline region. It is a member of the Variegated group of Sušice-Votice and of the graphite-bearing belt of Týn nad Vltavou-Milevsko and his structure of Hosty. The graphite flakes are very fine (0,1-0,25 mm) - fine-grained and the large graphite deposit has a content 11 C in 2-12 beds with the thickness, erlans and marbles. The graphite beds and other rocks are somewhere penetrated by pegmatite and aplite veins. The dip is generally 35°to NE. The reserves of the raw material are nearly 5 mil. t. The exploration and mining activity fall in years 1946-1967. It was mined merely 73 000 tons (average value 9,97 °C). The presence of remarkable amounts of phosphorus and vanadium in the deposit suggests that the graphite and graphitic gneiss up to quartzite originated by metamorphism of sedimentary rocks with biogenic material (old petroleum deposits)
